Submission of Work Information
Qualifications for Submission:
Sven’s Kafe & Gallery’s exhibitions are open to artists generating original and current works in all mediums. Content of work to be exhibited is open. However, as a venue open to the public, Sven’s Kafe & Gallery reserves the right to refuse any works, as determined by the curator.
To submit works for consideration, please select four to six images to be emailed as jpeg files, or sent in through mail, rather than bringing them by in person, due to our selection process. Images must be labeled with the artist’s name & title of the work, and you may include a description of your process, technique, and vision for your exhibit. Send images and contact information to:

Currently, there is no limiting factor on the size of two-dimensional work; however, each exhibit is handled on a case by case basis. All 2-D work must be wired for hanging. Artists wishing to furnish their own hanging materials will be discussed on a case by cases basis, assuming no damage will be committed to the building. Sven’s Kafe & Gallery will be responsible for any damage caused by its employees during the installation or removal of the pieces, but does not carry insurance on the art itself, so any such insurance should be arranged through your own insurance carrier, if desired. The showing of three-dimensional work can be arranged and will also be handled on an individual basis.
Sales:
Sven’s Kafe & Gallery does not charge a fee for works displayed. Any work that does sell, however, is subject to a thirty-five percent (35%) commission of the sale price of the work including prints for sale in the gallery. A limit of one (1) piece in a show are allowed to be not-for-sale (NFS), all others must be for sale, until purchased, throughout the period of the show. Please allow a period of two weeks after the final removal for any and all payments to be processed.
Receptions:
Art receptions for exhibits are scheduled on a mutually agreed upon date for a two to three hour period. The gallery rental fee is waived for one opening/closing art exhibit.
Sven’s will have the kafe open for business during the reception hours for the purchase of beverages or food. However, we provide a menu of catering options should you choose to provide your guests with additional selections.
Removals:
The showing pieces which have not sold must be removed during the agreed upon closing date.
